Welcome To The Merry Go Around
Mission Statement
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Merry Go Around (MGA) is a diverse program dedicated to nurturing the “whole child” in all areas of development (social, physical, emotional, cognitive and language) through collaboration with families, a professional staff, classmates and the community. We are committed to providing developmentally appropriate childhood enrichment that promotes growth, joy, respect, and self-worth through meaningful daily educational experiences that challenges both the child and their imagination.
Philosophy
We believe children are strong, capable learners who develop best through innovative social and environmental interactions. Our program and our staff provide opportunities that stimulate each child’s physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development in our natural, home-like environment. At our center, children learn through interactive play and sechduled activities, both in a large and small group setting. As a staff, we strive to foster the development and reinforcement of life-long core values within each child in a way that is comfortable, respectful, and reflects appreciation for individual differences through a variety of experiences….all in a fun, supportive, and safe environment. We believe this approach is most effective for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of each child with opportunities for parent involvement.
Goals
The MGA’s goal is to provide your child with a loving, diverse, and supportive learning environment that fosters development through thoughtful social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and language activities in a classroom setting. Our smaller class sizes in comparison to other centers allows our diverse group of teachers to customize the curriculum to meet each child’s needs making the learning experience more effective and meaningful.
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
MGA is proud to be a NAEYC accredited center. Accredited programs have met NAEYC’s 10 standards for high-quality early childhood education. These programs have demonstrated that they have a safe and healthy environment for children, educated teachers who are well-trained specifically in early childhood education, access to innovative teaching materials, and work with a curriculum that is both challenging and developmentally sound.
